Candidates are
reminded that the information contained on the following pages is a very brief
description of the Evaluation Process. Candidates MUST
read the Candidate Guide, which is available on the last page, in order to be
fully informed of the Evaluation Process and requirements.
The Stage 1 - Desktop Audit is a
paper-based assessment of a candidate's educational qualifications.
Qualifications will be assessed in terms of occupational education as well as
for general comparability to Australian educational standards. The
general comparability of educational qualifications to Australian educational
standards will be based on the published Guidelines contained in the Australian
Education International - National Office of Overseas Skills Recognition
(AEI-NOOSR) Country Education Profiles for the country in which the candidate
obtained their qualifications. These Profiles reflect research carried
out by AEI-NOOSR.
The following Desktop Audit options
are available:
 |
the candidate holds a chiropractic
qualification from an accredited CCE program
(Form A1);
|
 |
the candidate holds a chiropractic
qualification from an accredited Australian or New Zealand program
(Form A2);
|
 |
the candidate is currently registered
in Australia or New Zealand, regardless of qualification
(Form A3) - (these candidates must hold both current registration and
a current practising certificate); or
|
 |
none of the above
(Form A4).

The minimum criteria
against which a qualification assessment will be made is that the candidate:
 |
holds a qualification obtained from a
recognised chiropractic institution; OR
|
 |
the studies leading to the
chiropractic
qualification are equivalent to Bachelor level or higher in the Australian
Qualifications Framework (AQF);
|
 |
the studies leading to the
chiropractic
qualification are equivalent in duration to no less than three
academic years;
|
 |
the course curriculum included similar
content and duration of theoretical, practical and clinical components to an
accredited entry level program in Australia;
|
 |
the
chiropractic qualification
is
recognised for full registration/licensure
(if applicable) or membership of the professional association in the
country of training;
|
 |
the candidate has demonstrated a
comprehensive knowledge and satisfactory level of skills in English by
satisfying the English language requirement;
|
 |
is
currently registered, licensed or otherwise officially recognised and in "good
standing", or eligible for registration or licensure, as a chiropractor in the
country where they trained or practise;

If an applicant disagrees
with the outcome of the assessment, he or she can request a review. The request
must be in writing and state the reasons why the applicant disagrees with the
outcome as well as any additional information that will support the
request. A review fee of up to $550 may be charged.

Guide. Candidates are strongly advised to read this Guide carefully to
ensure they complete the correct type of Desktop Audit.
