Introduction
The following
pages:
-
briefly describe the process for working in Australia;
-
give you access to the
Candidate Guide and Application Forms; and
-
provide sample questions.
The Council, while having
New Zealand representation, does not evaluate a person's suitability to
migrate to, or practise in New Zealand. If you are planning on working
in New Zealand you should contact the
New Zealand Chiropractic
Board.
All
chiropractors, including Australian and New Zealand residents
who trained outside of Australia or New Zealand, are required to
successfully complete the Council's two-step Evaluation Process before
seeking registration.
This process
has come about due to changes in legislation within Australia. These
changes now only recognise for registration purposes, Australian and New
Zealand qualifications. As a consequence, all Australian Chiropractors Registration
Boards require persons who trained outside of Australia or New Zealand to
successfully complete the CCEA Evaluation Process before seeking
registration.
Candidates
should be aware that successful completion of the CCEA Evaluation Process
does not guarantee registration. Successful
candidates may be required to fulfill additional requirements placed on them
by the Registration Board in the State or Territory where they wish to practise. Candidates are advised to check with the Registration Board
in the State or Territory where they wish to practise to ascertain if any
additional requirements are necessary.
A
comprehensive Candidate Guide is available for download in PDF format by
following the link at the end of this overview. Candidates are advised to
read this Candidate Guide so they are aware of the process and requirements.
Please note: CCEA, State and Territory Registration Boards
and AEI-NOOSR do not provide information on how to migrate or on the
allocation of points under the Skilled Migration Program; for this
information candidates need to contact the
Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs (DIMA)
or their nearest Australian Embassy, High Commission or Consulate.
